Project description

The PON project for the conservation, enhancement, and networking of the intangible heritage (music, fairy tales, historical stories, festivals, etc.) of Basilicata and Puglia was carried out by the Central Institute for Sound and Audiovisual Heritage. Two other Central Institutes were also involved, the Institute for Intangible Heritage and the Central Institute for Cataloguing and Documentation. The Sapienza University of Rome, the University of Basilicata, and the University of Salento also collaborated.

The results of the project are presented on a holographic screen, with the help of an avatar equipped with artificial intelligence called Aurora (named after the protagonist of a fairy tale and in homage to the Lucanian scholar Aurora Milillo), and multimedia exhibitions that allow visitors to learn about and appreciate this extraordinary cultural heritage.
