Project description

With Hyperbiographies, we attempted an experiment to make family trees simple and natural to understand, on the occasion of the 2000th anniversary of the death of the Roman emperor Augustus. When studying history, we often come across family trees that trace the development of families. Everything seems clear, but then we never remember anything about the family relationships we have just seen.

With this interactive application, you can play with going back and forth in time, observing the formation and destruction of family units, in the case of the Julio-Claudian family. A family that gave rise to the first dynasty of Roman emperors, from Augustus to Nero. Presented at the exhibition celebrating Augustus at Palazzo Massimo, it was immediately welcomed by experts, historians, and the public.
